The Music Store lost a very special person in January. Mr. Frank Mochol, a science teacher at Wayland-Cohocton Central School and an extremely talented musician passed away from complications from an illness.
Frank Mochol was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, and had taught high school for 25 years here in Wayland. He played clarinet, saxophone and flute in many different musical groups ranging from classical orchestras to jazz quartets and Dixieland bands. Frank had played tenor sax with the Southern Tier All Stars since its inception 23 years ago, and played with several other local groups including his own acoustic group, the Turtlestone Trio, and often played in area high school and college musical pit orchestras. Frank lived in Wayland with his wife, Julie. In addition to his loving wife, Julie, Frank left behind a son, Kyle and a daughter, Lindsay. Frank also left many close, loving friends not only at The Music Store but at school and in our local communities.
We, at The Music Store, would like to dedicate this page in honor of Frank. He was not just a talented musician and instructor, he was our dearest friend. Not a day goes by that his name is not brought up and memories are shared. So with that being said…Play on, Frank. Make beautiful music in Heaven and know you are missed and loved by so many.
